The North Dakota Department of Human Services has expanded access to telehealth services to provide medically-necessary behavioral health services to vulnerable North Dakotans during the COVID-19 pandemic. Telehealth services are offered by the department’s eight regional behavioral health clinics and four satellite clinics in the state. Each clinic offers behavioral health services focused on chronic disease management and behavioral health crises services.

Gov. Doug Burgum today signed an amended executive order providing additional guidance for businesses that are resuming or continuing operations under the “North Dakota Smart Restart” protocols developed in collaboration with the business community to address the COVID-19 pandemic.

Governor Doug Burgum announced that closed businesses, including bars and restaurants, can reopen Friday, May 1 under new guidelines. In order to remove impaired drivers from the road, the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) will have extra patrols beginning May 1 through May 3.

The North Dakota Department of Health (NDDoH) and Vitalant are asking individuals who previously tested positive for COVID-19 and have recovered to consider donating their plasma, also known as convalescent plasma. There is currently no proven treatment for COVID-19, but the Food and Drug Administration is allowing the transfusion of convalescent plasma as an investigational treatment. It’s currently the only antibody treatment available for COVID-19 patients.

Gov. Doug Burgum and Commerce Commissioner Michelle Kommer today released “North Dakota Smart Restart” protocols for businesses resuming or continuing operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, as the state’s number of active cases declined with a record number of recoveries.

Gov. Doug Burgum today announced he will lift restrictions that were placed on businesses to slow the spread of the coronavirus, while implementing new guidelines and standard operating procedures for businesses as they resume or continue operations during the COVID-19 pandemic.
