Below are the COVID-19 results, as of May 19, 2020

The State Historical Society of North Dakota announces the opening of most state historic sites on May 23. In alignment with the North Dakota Smart Restart Campaign, the agency will open all interpretive centers except the Ronald Reagan Minuteman Missile State Historic Site near Cooperstown and the State Museum in Bismarck. The missile site will open June 15.

The North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department announces the opening of the Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center and Fort Mandan on May 21.  In alignment with the North Dakota Smart Restart Campaign, the building will be open Tuesday-Sunday from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm until further notice to allow for additional deep cleaning. Visitors are asked to keep a six-foot distance from other visitors during their visit.

Gov. Doug Burgum today announced an emergency rule change that will allow residents of basic care facilities in North Dakota to keep the Economic Impact Payments provided as part of the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.

North Dakota employers have a unique ability and responsibility to support the behavioral health needs of their employees as they navigate these challenging times. To support their efforts, the North Dakota Department of Human Services’ Behavioral Health Division has created a behavioral health toolkit for employers to support employees’ behavioral health. Unprecedented claim volumes are driving a dramatic increase in fraudulent unemployment claims across the country – North Dakota included.

Job Service North Dakota uses multiple types of fraud identification and prevention tools, but the most effective fraud prevention tool available is North Dakota’s employers. 

The North Dakota State Hospital (NDSH) in Jamestown recently completed a two-day COVID-19 testing event of patients and staff. Nearly 500 tests were administered by the hospital’s 20-person testing team of nurses, infection control specialists, administrators and other key team members.

North Dakota State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler is asking for public suggestions about the best uses for federal education aid that was recently approved by Congress.
