State School Superintendent Kirsten Baesler announced Wednesday that Gov. Doug Burgum is allowing North Dakota’s schools to use school property for high school graduation ceremonies.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce today announced that the Innovation Technology Loan Fund (LIFT) Committee is again accepting applications for the LIFT program.

Gov. Doug Burgum today was joined by local leaders in announcing a new Red River Valley COVID-19 Task Force to address an increasing concentration of COVID-19 case numbers in Cass County.

The federal Administration for Community Living (ACL) has awarded the North Dakota Department of Human Services a $300,000 grant to help meet the needs of older adults and people with disabilities as communities continue working to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and to bring services and provide support to people at increased risk of COVID-19.

The Department of Mineral Resources has established the Bakken Restart Task Force to facilitate rapid recovery of the oil and gas industry and supporting sectors impacted by COVID-related demand shock.

The task force includes Mineral Resources, Public Service Commission, Environmental Quality, Trust Lands, Pipeline Authority, Office of Management and Budget, Tax Department, Commerce, Bank of North Dakota and input requested from various industry subject matter experts.

The North Dakota Department of Commerce received more than 11,300 responses from the North Dakota COVID-19 Community Impact Survey. 

 Commerce in partnership with other agencies, issued the statewide survey in April to gain a better understanding of how the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic is impacting communities and individuals across the state.

The North Dakota Parks & Recreation Department announces the reopening of state park campgrounds. In alignment with the North Dakota Smart Restart Campaign, the department will be opening all campgrounds, except Little Missouri State Park, on May 9 for no-service camping. Starting May 21, all parks will be opened with limited service for this season.

Despite there being fewer vehicles on the road due to COVID-19, the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) has seen an increase in speeding citations issued for drivers exceeding the speed limit by over 10 mph. From March 15 to April 15, 2020, citations issued for speeds in excess of 10 mph have increased by 38% when compared to a 3-year average (2016-2018) of the citations issued during the same time period.
