Mandan, N.D. - The North Dakota Department of Transportation has closed Highway 1806 due to a large group of protesters blocking the north and south bound lanes north of the protest camps. Protesters have escalated their blockade activity by moving hay bales, rocks, tree stumps and other items onto Highway 1806 to fortify a roadblock they created around 2:00 pm today.
A traffic control point (TCP) is currently in place at Highway 1806 and Morton County Road 138 and is likely to be in place for an extended amount of time. It is recommended that you use Highway 6 for your travel south as Highway 1806 is for local traffic only.
