At 8:00 am, it was reported that approximately 75 protesters were on the Backwater Bridge. Throughout the morning, they worked on building a barricade wall on the bridge consisting of wood and other materials supplemented by some sandbags.At approximately 9:30 am, a caravan of approximately 40 vehicles left the Seven Councils camp and traveled to Bismarck/Mandan. Protesters assembled in downtown Bismarck where they were at several locations to include the downtown Wells Fargo Bank. One protester was arrested for disorderly conduct as a result of the protest activities in Bismarck. Protesters gathered at the Mandan LEC at approximately 12:50 pm. A group was seated on the sidewalk directly in front of the main doors. Law enforcement gave them direction to move and they initially complied and left. The group apparently walked around the block and returned to the front of the LEC where a group returned to the area they were directed to leave and sat and refused to comply with orders to leave. They were subsequently arrested – a total of 16 were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and criminal trespass.
